Prepare 250 gms Bhindi or Okra
Take 3 tsp Oil
Take 1/2 tsp Ajwain Seeds
Make ready 1 Tej Patta
Prepare 1 inch Cinnamon Piece
Get 1 medium sized Onion (chopped)
Prepare 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
Prepare 1 medium sized Tomato (chopped)
Prepare 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
Get 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
Make ready 1 tsp Dhaniya Jeera Powder
Take to taste Salt
Take 1/4 tsp Garam Masala
Take 1 tsp Kasuri Meethi (crushed)
Make ready as required Green Coriander Leaves for garnishing
Steps to make Bhindi (Okra) Do Pyaaza:
Firstly wash, clean and dry all bhindis. Then cut in small round slices.
Now heat up the 1 tsp of oil in kadhai on low flame. Add bhindi and cook till it changes colour. Remove from kadhai and keep aside.
In the same kadhai, add remaining 2 tsp of oil and heat it on low flame. Once heated properly add ajwain, tej patta and cinnamon piece. Saute for 1 second and then add onions. Saute onions till it turns translucent.
Now add ginger garlic paste, mix and cook for a minute. Then tomatoes and cook for a minute. Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, dhania jeera powder and salt. Mix all well and cook till tomatoes gets cooked completely and becomes soft.
Now add prepared bhindi and mix all well and cook for 2 mins. Then add garam masala and kasuri meethi and further cook for a minute.
Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with roti.
