Hey everyone, it’s me, Dave, welcome to my recipe page. Today, I will show you a way to prepare a special dish, litti chokha. One of my favorites food recipes. For mine, I’m gonna make it a bit unique. This will be really delicious.

Litti Chokha is one of the most popular of recent trending foods in the world. It’s simple, it’s quick, it tastes delicious. It’s appreciated by millions every day. Litti Chokha is something which I have loved my whole life. They’re fine and they look fantastic.

The ingredients needed to make Litti Chokha:
  1. Get Litti -
  2. Take Wheat flour
  3. Get Carom seeds
  4. Make ready Salt in flour
  5. Make ready Sattu flour (can made at home by grinding Phutana dal)
  6. Take ginger garlic green chilli paste
  7. Get Mustard oil (raw)
  8. Get Onion seeds
  9. Prepare red chilli powder

  12. Make ready water for adding in sattu Filling
  13. Prepare water for Kneading dough
  14. Prepare oil as moyin
  15. Prepare Ghee for deep frying littis
  16. Prepare Chokha:
  17. Make ready Big aubergine (Bharta Baingan)
  18. Take Potatoes (medium size)
  19. Get Garlic cloves
  20. Take Grated Ginger
  21. Prepare green chillies
  22. Take Onions chopped
  23. Make ready Tomatoes chopped
  24. Take Mustard oil
  25. Make ready Salt
  26. Get chopped coriander leaves
  27. Get Dal -
  28. Get Toor dal
  29. Prepare onion finely chopped
  30. Prepare Tomato finely chopped
  31. Take Garlic cloves finely chopped
  32. Get Grated Ginger
  33. Get Green chillies slit into halves
  34. Get - curry leaves
  35. Make ready Coriander leaves finely chopped
  36. Take Turmeric powder
  37. Take Cumin Seeds
  38. Get Ghee for tadka
  39. Prepare Dried red chili for tadka
  40. Get Green Chutney-
  41. Make ready Pudina leaves
  42. Make ready Coriander leaves
  43. Make ready Green chillies
  44. Prepare garlic cloves
  45. Make ready ginger
  46. Take salt
  47. Make ready Cumin Powder
  48. Get water
  49. Get Serving -
  50. Prepare chopped onions
  51. Make ready Green chillies
Instructions to make Litti Chokha:
  1. Sattu Filling for litti-
  2. Take 100 gms of sattu flour in a bowl, add ginger garlic green chillies paste, chopped coriander leaves, salt, onion seeds, Mustard oil and water. Mix well sattu filling for litti is ready (one can also use any Mustard oil based achari masala) if it's available easily. Keep this filling aside.
  3. For Litti covering-
  4. Take wheat flour in a bowl, add salt, carom seeds and oil moyin. Now start adding water and knead a dough same as required for Chapati Dough (not too loose not too tight). Rest this dough by applying oil for 15 mins. After 15 mins knead again. Litti covering is ready.
  5. Litti frying -
  6. Take a lemon size portion from dough now with help of finger press it and make a Katori.
  7. Now, take 2 tsp of sattu filling and fill it in that katori. Seal the dough and give it a round shape with the help of your palm. Seal it properly so while frying our littis will not open in ghee.
  8. Prepare all littis in similar fashion and keep it ready for frying.
  9. Now heat ghee in a kadahi. Start adding littis in batches. Please note that throughout the frying process the gas flame will be low. Flip the littis once they are golden brown from once side. Similarly fry all littis and take out on tissue paper. Littis are ready.
  10. For Chokha-
  11. Pressure cook aubergine and potatoes by peeling them. Take one whistle. Discard the water and start mashing potatoes and aubergine together with the help of a Smasher.
  12. Heat Mustard oil in a kadhai. Add chopped onions, chopped garlic cloves, grated ginger and chopped green chillies. Saute well till raw aroma disappears. Now add chopped tomatoes and saute till tomatoes are soft and mushy.
  13. Add turmeric powder and salt. Now add smashed potatoes and aubergine. Mix well and adjust Salt. Cover and cook for 5 mins.
  14. Switch off the flame add raw garlic cloves roughly chopped from above, add raw Mustard oil around 1 tbsp. Add chopped coriander leaves. Chokha is ready to be served.
  15. For dal-
  16. Pressure cook toor dal for 3-4 whistles by adding salt and turmeric powder.
  17. Heat oil in a kadhai. Add cumin seeds let it splutter, now add curry leaves, dried red chillies, mix well, now add chopped garlic, grated ginger, chopped green chillies, add chopped onions and saute well. Once onions are pink add tomatoes. Cook till tomatoes are tender.
  18. Add cooked toor dal and give it a good mix. Let it boil on low flame for 10 mins and add coriander leaves. Add ghee from above. Dal is ready.
  19. Green Chutney -
  20. In a mixer jar add - washed pudina leaves, washed coriander leaves, green chillies, garlic cloves, ginger, salt, cumin powder and water. Blend to make a smooth Puree. Green Chutney is ready
  21. Serving Litti Chokha-
  22. In a plate arrange - crushed littis + add some ghee from above, chokha, tempored dal, green chutney, chopped onions and green chillies.
