Instructions to make Dal Fry (Served in Rice Bowl) !!:
  1. Soak toor dal in water for 20 to 25 mins, wash properly and pressure cook with water for 4 whistles and allow it to cool completely. Whisk cooked dal well with whisker or hand blender to smooth.
  2. Heat up the ghee in a kadhai and add mustard seeds, jeera, methi seeds, hing, curry leaves and broken dried red chilli and splutter them.
  3. Add chopped onions and saute till it turns translucent. Now add ginger garlic paste and cook for a minute. Add chopped tomatoes, mix well and cook for 2 mins. Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, dhania jeera powder and salt. Mix all well and cook till tomatoes gets cooked completely and turns soft.
  4. Then add whisked cooked dal, add required amount of water, mix well and cook for 8 to 10 mins. Add garam masala and kasuri meethi and further cook for a minute. Switch off the flame.
  5. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot in rice bowl with papad and tomato onion salad with lemon.
