The ingredients needed to make Baked Batata Wada:
  1. Take 1/2 kg potatoes
  2. Get to taste Salt
  3. Take 1 tbsp oil
  4. Get 1 tsp urad dal
  5. Prepare 1 tsp mustard and cumin seeds
  6. Get 2 tbsp green chillies-ginger paste
  7. Make ready 1 tsp garlic paste
  8. Get 2 tbsp chopped green coriander leaves
  9. Take 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  10. Make ready 1 lemon juice
  11. Get For batter:
  12. Make ready 11/2 cup besan (gram flour)
  13. Make ready to taste Salt
  14. Get 1 tsp red chilli powder
  15. Make ready 1 pinch asafoetida (hing)
  16. Get 1 pinch soda-bi-carb
  17. Make ready for coating Bread crumbs as required
  18. Make ready 2 tbsp oil
Instructions to make Baked Batata Wada:
  1. Boil,peel and mash potatoes. Add salt, chopped coriander leaves,lemon juice,turmeric powder. In small tempering pan heat oil,add urad dal saute till light pink in colour,add mustard and cumin seeds,as they splutter,pour on mash potato mixture. Mix well and make equal size 8 balls.
  2. In another mixing bowl add besan, salt and red chilli powder, asafoetida,soda bi carb, add little water to make semi thick batter.
  3. Dip one potato ball in prepared besan batter,on it sprinkle bread crumbs as shown.
  4. Now again roll this prepared potato ball in bread crumbs. Prepared all potato balls similarly.
  5. Place a square piece of aluminium foil in Airfryer mash tray.Place prepared potato balls in preheated Airfryer/ oven bake for 15 -20 mins at 180 C in between gently turned them till they are golden brown in colour. Sprinkle 1 tbsp of oil oil on baked batata wadas(on 4 batata wadas).Similarly prepared other batata wadas.
  6. Serve/ Relish Hot Baked Batata Wadas with green coriander chutney and dry garlic chutney.
