The ingredients needed to make Vegetarian Momos:
  1. Make ready 3/4 cup plain flour (maida)
  2. Make ready as needed water
  3. Prepare 3/4 tsp salt
  4. Take 2 tsp oil
  5. Get For The Stuffing
  6. Make ready 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
  7. Prepare 1/4 cup finely chopped carrots
  8. Prepare 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic (lehsun)
  9. Take 4-5 spring onion greens
  10. Prepare 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  11. Make ready 1 tsp soy sauce
  12. Take 1/2 tsp salt
  13. Prepare 1 tbsp oil
Instructions to make Vegetarian Momos:
  1. Mix flour, salt and oil in a bowl and add water to make a smooth pliable dough. Keep aside covered.
  2. Heat a pan with oil, add garlic, and finely chopped white part of the spring onion. Give a stir in high flame.
  3. Add the veggies, and fry in high flame for a minute (according to the taste buds, some people like to add sugar as well but i didn't add sugar).
  4. Add salt, pepper, soy sauce and mix well
  5. Lastly add finely chopped green part of the spring onion for garnishing and mix for a minute in medium flame.
  6. Switch off and keep aside.
  7. Roll the dough into a big disc and used a big lid to cut into smaller discs.
  8. After that again roll to make it more thin. Keep some stuffing that you prepared in the middle.
  9. Fold it to make momo shapes (you can follow the pattern of sari pleats to have momos shaped well). Though i have not made it perfect, it can help first timers like me
  10. Steam it in a steamer and spaced properly, for 5 minutes.
  11. Serve it hot with red chilli or tomato sauce
