  3. Add 1/2 cup of oil, add half shallots in when oil is hot enough. Don't crowd the wok.
  4. Make sure the heat is medium 6, don't burn the shallots.
  5. Mix bean paste and soya sauce to make sauce mix well.
  6. Once the shallot turn brown, add the sauce around the edge of the wok.
  7. Add sugar, salt, chili flakes.
  8. Add rest of oil into the wok. Add peppercorn in.
  9. Add pinch of five spices powder.
  10. Cook for another 3 mins.
  11. Serve.

I really love on my egg omelet and porridge. Also you could just toss in your favorite noodles (ex. egg noodles or spaghetti).
